Blackjack at the GOLDEN GRAND

Play blackjack and win

Whichever way you spin it: any good online casino simply has to have blackjack. The simple blackjack rules and fast-paced rounds of the blackjack game make it one of the most popular games in any casino. That’s why it’s a must-have game here, too! Whether you play it in our live casino or as an automated table game: in our online casino, you can choose from a range of the latest versions and the most widely played blackjack games.

How to play blackjack: the rules

The values of the cards in blackjack are very easy to explain and quick to learn because there are generally only three kinds:

  • number cards from 2 to 10 are worth the respective value of the card
  • the Jack, Queen and King are worth 10 points each
  • an ace is worth either 1 or 11, depending on which version is better for the hand playing it.

With these values, you have to get as close to 21 as possible. If you exceed 21 points, you go bust and automatically lose the round. When you play blackjack, there may be multiple players sitting at the table at once, but you only need to pay attention to your own hand and the croupier’s hand.

Typically, up to seven players can play against the bank at one table. Each blackjack player places their bet for the current round and is dealt a card face up in clockwise order. After that, the dealer receives a card face up and each player receives a second card. The value of the player’s two cards is added together and the player can decide whether to stand or draw more cards. If the player’s card total exceeds 21 points, they automatically lose the round and the cards are removed.

After the last blackjack player has decided, the dealer draws their second card and must then keep drawing cards until they have 17 points or more. At this stage, the blackjack croupier does not have any freedom of choice. If they reach 16 points, they must draw. If they reach a total of between 17 and 21 points, they must stand. The blackjack round is considered to be won if a player has fewer than 22 points but more than the dealer, or if the dealer exceeds 21 points.

There are a few extra rules for when you can double your bet or split your cards, as well as exactly what happens when you get blackjack, i.e. an ace and one of the cards that are worth 10 points. These are explained in detail in our Blackjack rules.

Blackjack – a fun game for everyone

As you can see, the rules are really quite simple. But that’s exactly what makes the blackjack game so popular. It’s simple to understand, you can work out your own playing style very quickly and you get used to the blackjack rounds in no time. On top of all that, blackjack is also considered one of the games in which the bank has the lowest house edge. Whether you play live blackjack or blackjack online: there’s never a dull moment.
